Description

Join our dynamic bid management function as a Technical Bid Writer & Administrator, where you will take responsibility for writing high quality and compelling tender responses. In doing so, you will support the sale of:

  • Our market-leading social care and education software products to Local Authorities.
  • Our exciting Innovation Delivery service, which provides bespoke software development to a wide variety of clients across numerous sectors, including NHS Trusts, universities, and National Grid.

You will author content, review and edit content provided by colleagues, and ensure that technical material across all bids is brought together in a cohesive and powerful manner. This opportunity will suit someone from a STEM background with strong knowledge of software practices. You will persuasively convey our expertise, showcasing our:

  • Breadth of technical knowledge across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Expertise in delivery methodologies.
  • Success delivering complex solutions across a wide client base.

Reporting to the Bid Manager, you will join a team with a strong track record in responding to tenders and will play an important role in further growing our presence across key markets, notably with respect to the local government, medical, science, and engineering sectors.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone with strong technical knowledge and writing skills, with the ability to:

  • Demystify complex technical information into clear, precise, and cogent prose.
  • Independently write about our software development practices, covering how we have built, deployed, and iterated our own software products, as well as the custom software solutions of many of our clients.
  • Write persuasively, ensuring that in each tender we build a powerful and convincing argument to sell our products and services.
  • Identify the key win themes for a tender and architect the structure of each tender’s technical components around these.
  • Translate our processes for software project management, data migration, integrations, secure development practices, cloud processing, data management, and domain-driven-design into clear, understandable, and convincing terms.
  • Work across multiple, concurrent bids, each featuring differing technical details and challenges.
  • Stay abreast with the evolving technical landscape and how we absorb new technologies into our development practices.
  • Work independently, proactively, and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify tender/framework opportunities for the Local Government and Innovation Delivery teams, present these to stakeholders, and complete bid responses.
  • Coordinate the efforts of other bid team members, using strong communication skills to ensure that the best quality bid is completed to specified deadlines.
  • Curate relevant sections of central tender response repositories.
  • Help plan and monitor bid progress against the scheduled plan, addressing issues as they arise.
  • Use customer feedback to improve the quality of bid responses.
  • Work with the Bid Manager to evolve our tenders/frameworks strategy and grow the company into new markets.
  • Liaise with the Bid Manager to build tooling and resources to assist with bid preparation and delivery.
  • Administer the company’s membership on key procurement portals and frameworks.

For every position, we develop a detailed job description and person specification. This approach maintains our focus on the true demands of the role and the skills, experience, and qualifications necessary. During interviews, we involve multiple interviewers where possible to further mitigate unintentional bias, thereby promoting a fair and equitable hiring process.
