Description

Join our dynamic bid management function as a Bid Writer & Administrator, where you will take responsibility for writing high quality and compelling tender responses. These will focus on explaining the functionality of our social care and education software products, sold to Local Authorities.

This is an exciting role, which requires an ability to work under pressure on parallel activities to meet challenging deadlines. You will author content; collate, review, and edit the content of colleagues; and aid in co-ordination of all bid-related and content library activities. You will join a company with a strong track record in tender and framework submissions and will add value by maximising the quality of our bids, giving the company an even stronger foothold in relevant markets.

Skills and experience

We are looking for someone who has prior bid writing experience, with:

  • Knowledge of the social care, education, and/or healthcare sectors.
  • Experience writing about software functionality.
  • A strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent writing and copy-editing skills, with an ability to write persuasively, cogently, and precisely.
  • Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written.
  • Good administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to problem solve and work in a pro-active manner.
  • Competence in the use of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

Writing:

  • Build a strong understanding of our social care and education product suite, especially in relation to product functionality.
  • Produce high quality, compelling written tender responses, based on your understanding, to agreed deadlines.
  • Produce bid copy, both as ‘final copy’ as well as ‘pre-population’ copy.
  • Review and edit internal colleagues’ input to tender responses.
  • Ensure that all new, updated, and high-quality bid content is recorded in the company’s repository for re-use.
  • Assist the Bid Manager in developing a proposal structure; identifying and articulating key win themes; and producing KPIs, lessons learned, and bid tooling.

Administrative:

  • Liaise with the legal team, where applicable, regarding contract documentation.
  • Locate suitable tender and framework opportunities and present these to stakeholders.
  • Support the administration of all framework and tender opportunities, including coordinating written responses; tracking progress; completing supplementary bid documentation; and submitting bids on time.
  • Administer the company’s membership on all procurement portals and frameworks.
  • Administer relevant bid alerts and documentation

For every position, we develop a detailed job description and person specification. This approach maintains our focus on the true demands of the role and the skills, experience, and qualifications necessary. During interviews, we involve multiple interviewers where possible to further mitigate unintentional bias, thereby promoting a fair and equitable hiring process.
