Purpose of the Role:
The Technical Operations team is responsible for the technical delivery and support of our managed service.

business, ensuring that enterprise infrastructure is provisioned, deployed, and supported to meet business needs.

The Junior Infrastructure Engineer will collaborate closely with specialists in the Managed Service teams and receive comprehensive training in all aspects of the team's work. This role includes on-the-job experience and formal industry training across all supported hardware, operating systems, databases, and applications.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone beginning a career in IT. The role involves shift work on a  24/7/365 rota, including evening, night, and weekend shifts, to ensure continuous coverage of business operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate Infrastructure Engineer will build foundational knowledge in the technologies required to support our existing and new software products, alongside a broader understanding of server, database, storage, and networking technologies.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical service desk support to internal and external customers.
  • Monitoring and managing hardware and applications.
  • Implementing patching and firmware upgrades.
  • Following company and team policies and practices.
  • As this is an entry-level role, responsibilities will expand over time as experience grows. Initially, the successful candidate will work closely with a mentor before transitioning to a more independent role. Full training will be provided, with an expectation that multiple industry certifications will be achieved within the first year.

Requirements:

  • IT Degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Flexibility to work on a rotating 24/7/365 schedule, including evenings, nights, and weekends.

Skills Required:
Any experience in following would be advantageous but is not essential.

  • IT Qualifications (Network, Server, Security).
  • Previous experience working within an IT department.
